Ride One: Lake Nipissing Circle Tour.
This ride starts in North Bay and then twists and wanders its way around Lake Nipissing one of the largest inland lakes in Ontario. The plan is to leave North Bay, 145 km (90 miles) from the start there is a fuel stop at the meeting of highway 522 and 69 at Grundy Provincial Park, then a mere 15 km (10 miles) we will be stopping at the French River Trading Post for lunch and shopping for those that need to buy that special gift.
Then a 77 km jaunt to the next major stop but there are a few really nice small roadsides pull over along the route that can provide some interesting rest areas. We will be passing through a few quaint and small towns.
Ride Two: is a really nice one,
2 provinces,3 cultures, this is one memorable ride with a lot of river valleys and historic towns and villages.
We will be riding up the Trans Canada North 11 through the towns of Temagami, then Latchford, stopping to see the shortest covered bridge in the world. At 11B we will turn off and head through Cobalt, Cobalt North and Haileybury, all part of the Biker Reunion ride. Then at New Liskeard we will gas up at the Husky gas station and then stop at Timmies for those in need of a coffee.
We then ride east along Highway 65 and cross the border over to the Quebec side catching highway 101. The plan is to stop for a meal in Quebec and for 2 stops on this side one at the Wall of Murals, and the other at a park stopping point. We will stop in Temiscaming for fuel, then ride on into North Bay.
The plan right now is to stop someplace on the Quebec side for a French Canadian lunch.
Ride Three: is up along the Trans Canada Highway 11,
once again with a stop at the Marten River Trading Post. Then a bit up the highway we turn on to Highway 64, if there ever was a definition of a twisty road in Northern Ontario, this could be it, there are a few fast curves, long sweepers, and some rolling hills with very light traffic.
We will stop at a very nice roadside stop for restrooms and a 15 min break, then on down towards Field and then once at the under pass we will turn right on to 539 and head towards River Valley and then down to Warren, along the TransCanada to Verner, stopping for a fuel point, and break area.
Then north along 575 backup to Field, and then along 64 to Sturgeon Falls for lunch and coffee. Sturgeon Falls is home to 2 of the busiest Chip stands and Tim Horton’s in Canada. Then along the TransCanada back to North Bay. We can stop for a break at local Outlook area.
